1. Lord Belvedere	Finished seventh last start at Mornington when fresh and ran eighth at Flemington when last second-up. Likely to settle back in the field. Knockout hope.
2. Blenheim Palace	Faded to finish six lengths off the winner last start at Moonee Valley. Has shown early speed in races to date and has finished poorly in past runs. Not the worst.
3. The Lord Mayor	Placed last start at Albury and has two placings from four runs this prep. three from seven wins have been in the dry. Among the main chances.
4. Dabiyr	Finished 10 lengths back last start at Yarra Valley on a soft track when resuming but will come to hand quickly and ran third when last second-up at Moonee Valley. Down in weight but hard to have.
5. South Pacific	Finished sixth last start at Moonee Valley when resuming and has disappointed in both starts as a favourite. Placed at Flemington in only second-up attempt but still appears safely held.
6. Norway	Still a maiden after 10 starts but goes down in weight. Place only.
7. Yonkers	Won once this prep at Randwick two runs back and finished midfield last start at Mornington. three of six wins have come from dry ground. Well placed.
8. Mohican Heights	Coming off a win to break maiden at Mornington and draws to do no work. Michael Walker has had success aboard previously. Leading hope.
9. Skelm	Won once this prep at Stony Creek two runs back and finished eighth last start at Mornington. All five wins have come in the dry but still not in this.
10. Silent Sovereign	Won once this prep at Caulfield four runs back and finished midfield last start at Albury. two of three wins have come from dry ground. Go well.
11. Rebel Racer	Coming off a win at Sandown and in strong form with two wins from five attempts this campaign. Carries a lot less weight. Not the worst.
12. Eaton	Won last start at Cranbourne and carries a lot less weight. six of seven wins have come from dry ground. Sneaky chance.
