Runner Comments

1. Arctic WolfFirst-up after 25 week break and proven perfromer on a soft track. Comes back to race at a country level. Tough to beat.
2. Gun BoltBack after 24 week break and down in distance. Expected to settle off the speed. Looking elsewhere.
3. Jessica RaeRan five lengths back from the winner last start at Mornington when fresh but generally strong second-up. 2kg claim should help but look to others.
4. Yulong IslandLed and kicked clear for nice win 1.8L at Yarra Valley 3Y Mdn-Sw over 1200m. Led and gave a great sight before run down late into third 0.9L at Yarra Valley Cl1 over 1200m.
5. Bartender BluesResumes after a 19 week spell and generally strong first-up placing at Ballarat last attempt. Up in weight. Place chance.
6. IndustrialPlaced in first start this prep and ran seven lengths back from the winner last start at Werribee. Likely to race off the speed. One of the main hopes.
7. KashiwaFinished a neck back from the leader last start at Colac and gets the winkers on for the first time. Takes a 3kg claim. Not the worst.
8. Deep MirrorDetermined win after sitting close to the lead in transit 0.1L at Colac 0 - 58 over 1200m. Began well led, weakened 200m, never likely 3.4L at Caulfield 3Yf Bm70 over 1400m. Nicely placed by trainer here.
9. BarangareadyAmongst the placegetters last start running third at Terang when first up and placed at Moe in only second-up attempt. Rates highly with Zac Spain aboard. Go well.
10. SpearsSettled back, got going late, needs more ground 5.1L at The Valley Mares Bm64 over 1200m. Did pass a few tired horses but ultimately left run too late 3.8L at Stony Creek Bm58 over 1100m.
11. The MitreBeaten for speed and never came into contention 8.2L at Colac 0 - 58 over 1000m. Stalked the leaders however disappointed in a one-paced effort 12.1L at Penshurst Bm52 over 1476m.
