Runner Comments

1. Gee Gee PengalaFinished seven lengths back last start at Launceston on a heavy track when first up but has won twice at Hobart before. Goes well on a softer track. Can surprise.
2. Weekend WhiskyOn a seven day back-up and has won four times at Hobart before. Has the speed to overcome a very wide draw. Knockout hope.
3. ManilenyaResumes after spell of 14 weeks and returns to shorter trip. Should get a nice run behind a genuine early tempo. Not keen.
4. Set PlaySat behind the leaders and didn't go down without a fight when fourth 2.5L at Launceston 3Y-Swp over 1200m. Went forward to sit just off the leaders but served up a below par finish 6L at Launceston 3Y-Sw over 1400m.
5. AlinjerPushed forward to sit behind the speed but did little from there 4.6L at Launceston Cl3 over 1200m. Got a long way back in transit but produced a fast finish for second 3L at Launceston Bm60 over 1200m Heavy 8. Second-up.
6. VallabarLed doing best to fight off challengers but ultimately outclassed late 8.6L at Launceston Mdn-Sw over 1220m. Sat just behind the leaders and ran on well for the win 0.5L at Launceston 2Up Mdn-Sw over 1100m Heavy 8. Second-up.
7. Little River BoyLed all the way to win last start at Hobart on a soft track when fresh and has run well on a softer track. Track specialist winning twice at the track. Should fight out the finish.
8. RavageResumes from a long 52 week spell and comes to hand quickly. Won't be far away in the run. Not in this.
9. Cascade CityResumes after a spell of 56 weeks and returns to shorter trip. Outstanding form at Hobart but still hard to get enthused.
10. Worthy OpponentFirst-up after 14 week spell and needs a few starts to get warm. Goes down in weight but still not in this.
11. KurosetHas been flying of late but concern is the wide barrier. Not in this.
12. ZagameWon last start at Launceston when first up and Thomas Doyle a bonus. Right in this.
13. GympinsBack from 17 week spell and generally strong first-up placing at Launceston last attempt. Narrowly beaten as a favourite last start at Hobart. Forward showing no surprise.
14. Geegees Cash CowCame home strongly over the concluding stages for a nice fourth 2.5L at Hobart Bm60 over 1200m. Allowed the leaders to get a head start and didn't run on when sixth 5.7L at Hobart Bm60 over 1200m Soft 5. Second-up.
15. CongomotionRestrained back to midfield always under the pump to run on 5L at Launceston Cl3 over 1620m Soft 5. Sat just off the pace however couldn't go with the leaders fifth 4.5L at Launceston Bm60 over 1600m.
16. AcronymWeakened out of the race after doing a lot of chasing 9.6L at Launceston Bm60 over 1420m Soft 5. Had a big task ahead settling well back in the running 21L at Devonport Tapeta Bm60 over 1150m Synthetic. Second-up.
17. Hatrick HeroWeakened out of the race after doing a lot of chasing 16.1L at Launceston Bm66 over 2400m Soft 6. Made up some ground but never looked a danger 5.9L at Hobart Bm60 over 1200m Soft 5. Won second-up in the past.
