1. Lion's Roar | Plenty of merit in his Rosehill Guineas fourth when he only saw clear running over the latter stages. Won the Randwick Guineas two back and races like he will relish 2400m. Winning chance.
2. Rocket Spade | Crosses the Tasman after winning four of last five including The NZ Derby two back. Went back in distance to win over a mile last start. Proven at the trip and shouldn't be underestimated.
3. Sky Lab | Found Mo'unga a touch too strong in the Rosehill Guineas and with that galloper heading to the Doncaster gets his chance to go one better.
4. Milford | Didn't fire a shot in the Rosehill Guineas at first Australian start after a close second in the NZ Derby two back. No surprise to see a sharp improvement back up to 2400m.
5. The Frontman | Was back in distance when well beaten in the Tulloch last week but is worth another chance back up to 2400m after a close third in the NZ Derby two back.
6. Yaletown | Burst into contention with an impressive all the way win in the Tulloch last week and that race has been a good guide to the Derby in recent years. Looks the leader and will take plenty of running down.
7. Young Werther | Was placed in the Victoria Derby in the Spring and is ready for the 2400m after placing last two including the Tulloch Stakes last Saturday. Winning chance.
8. Khoekhoe | Was placed in the Autumn Classic resuming before being having every chance in the Rosehill Guineas last start. Still has plenty of scope for improvement but the 2400m looks a genuine query.
9. Prompt Prodigy | Only win in eight starts was a Newcastle maiden victory four back but showed he was up to a race like this chasing home Yaletown in the Tulloch Stakes last week. No surprise to see him in the finish.
10. Explosive Jack | Won the Tasmanian Derby three back and placed in the Alistair Clarke and Bendigo St Leger Trial last two. Would need to find something on form to date to be a genuine winning chance.
11. Toscanini | Runner up in the Grand Prix at Eagle farm four runs back and has raced against older horses in three subsequent outings including a third at Rosehill two back. Knockout hope at big odds back to his own age.
12. Favreau | Won successive races at Canberra and Kembla before finishing on the placegetters heels in the Tulloch last week. The barrier makes it hard but can place with the right run.
13. Rondino | Didn't fire a shot in the Tulloch last week and would need to improve considerably.
14. Zakspeed | Produced the quickest last 200m of the Tulloch Stakes when less than two-lengths from the winner last week. Roughie worth including in wider exotics.
15. Olympic Gaze | Missed a place at Kensington last start and overall form doesn't look good enough.
16. Montefilia | Handled the boys winning the Spring Champion Stakes before finishing third in the Oaks last preparation and put the writing on the wall last start producing race best sectionals when third in the Rosehill Guineas. Ready to win.
