Norwich sign Garrido from Lazio
Garrido failed to make an impact in his previous spell in England with Manchester City and has also struggled to hold down a regular place at Italian outfit Lazio.
But Canaries boss Chris Hughton believes the 27-year-old will shine at Norwich, who have an option to keep him beyond this season.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be bringing in somebody of Javier’s quality,” Hughton told Norwich’s website.
“It gives us real competition in the squad, and for me an important factor was the fact that he has played in the Premier League before.
“He has played in La Liga, Serie A, and the Premier League, so he is a player of real experience.”
Hughton, who was appointed as Paul Lambert’s replacement in the close-season, has now signed five players, with former Real Sociedad defender Garrido following Steven Whittaker, Jacob Butterfield, Robert Snodgrass and Michael Turner to Carrow Road.
